Campbell County Police are telling residents to be alert after a pipe bomb was found in a mailbox in Licking Pike Saturday.
The bomb appeared to be homemade and it was crudely put together. The bomb had not been detonated.
Members of the Cincinnati Bomb Squad were able to defuse and disassemble the bomb without having to detonate it.
This is not the only pipe bomb that has been placed in the area. Three other pipe bombs were found in the same area on Friday. These acts were believed to be random and were related to committing acts of vandalism.
The Campbell County Police Department is asking all residents to be cautious when opening mailboxes and to report any suspicious people or vehicles.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Campbell County Police Department at 859-547-3100 or the United States Postal Inspector's Office at 1-877-876-2455.
