HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - A suspect accused of raping and kidnapping a 9-year-old girl in 2005 is now back in Butler County.
Alfredo Cruz, 31, was captured in March of this year in Mexico after six years on the run. Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones called Cruz his number one most wanted.
Jones tweeted late Tuesday night, "Fugitive from Mexico Alfredo Lopez Cruz, accused of 2005 rape of 9-year-old in Hamilton, brought back to Butler County. Now in my jail."
Cruz was booked early Wednesday morning in the Butler County Jail, charged with four counts of rape and one count of kidnapping. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning.
An angry mob burned down the vacant house allegedly used in the attack shortly after Cruz was named a suspect in the case.
