Erlanger mother and daughter home after Ind. stage collapse

ERLANGER, KY (FOX19) - The Erlanger woman and her daughter hurt in the stage collapse in Indiana seven weeks ago are now home from the hospital.

Shannon Walcott sent a message to her friends on Facebook saying she is staying with her parents in Hebron. She has been in and out of the hospital since the accident.

Shannon sustained multiple broken ribs and a broken pelvis that will require months of rehabilitation and recovery.

Her daughter, 10-year-old Jade will be wearing a neck brace until mid November, but Shannon says Jade will be going back to school next week. She will be starting her 5th grade year.

Jade suffered a head injury requiring emergency brain surgery. She was in an induced coma in the Intensive Care Unit at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.

Dozens were injured in the stage collapse the killed seven people. Turpin High School cheerleading coach Megan Toothman was among the seven killed. The stage collapsed into a crowd waiting to see the country band Sugarland in concert.
