A light drizzle fell over a Covington neighborhood where a few dozen friends and family members gathered for a candle light vigil to share their grief over the tragic death of Donnell Brown. Family friend Holly Kennedy was among those attending a candle light vigil which she says "was just to show we lost somebody close to us, but is still with us.
Their grief is deepened by the fact that Donnell's body was found inside the home of people he knew. Holly Kennedy says the death has affected them all and that nobody deserves to die the way Donnell did.
56 year-old Brown had a few run ins with police in the past, but he's remembered by his loved ones as a man with a good heart and a generous spirit. Donnell's daughter in law Melissa Brown says "He'd give you the shirt of his back or get you some food if you were hungry."
Melissa Brown and others say Donnell is still with them, but so is the heartbreak of how he died.
