The great performances by Madeira (6-0, 3-0) and Joe Bodnar just keep coming. The Mustangs handled Reading (0-6, 0-3), 41-0 as the defense posted their second shutout of 2011. It was the school's 10th straight win and 22nd in their last 24 tries under head coach Mike Shafer.

Bodnar found the end zone four times, twice on a pair of short runs and receptions of 71 and 61 yards from Zach Jansen. It gave the senior 30 total touchdowns (19 receiving) for his career including 12 this season.

Classmate Isaac Rupe who came into the CHL leading the CHL in rushing and scoring, gained 108 yards on 13 carries and crossed the goal line two times. He now has 16 touchdowns on the season. Quarterback Jansen completed five of seven passes for 183 yards. The junior goes over 1,000 yards passing for a second straight year to go along with his 35 touchdown tosses at the varsity level.

Madeira now sets up for a home showdown with Indian Hill (5-1, 3-0) for sole possession of first place in the league on Friday night. Reading who has been outscored 83-0 the past two weeks travels to Finneytown (3-3, 2-1).
