Sheriffs looking for suspect in failed gas station robbery in Colerain Township

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Hamilton County Sheriffs are looking for a suspect who tried to rob a BP gas station at gunpoint early Saturday morning.

A short time after 5:00a.m., a black male wearing all black clothing and a black mask entered the BP gas station on Hamilton Avenue and pointed a handgun at the clerk. When the suspect approached the clerk, he ran out of the front door of the business.

The suspect then tried to get access into the safe and the cash register behind the counter, but was unsuccessful. The suspect then fled the store on foot in an unknown direction. Officials say nothing was taken from the store at this time.

The clerk suffered a minor injury while fleeing from the business.

The incident is still under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Criminal Investigative Section. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
