HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY (FOX19) - A road closure in Highland Heights will affect traffic around Northern Kentucky University.
Knollwood Drive at the Johns Hill Road/Martha Lane Collins Blvd. intersection will close beginning on Oct. 10.
The closure is needed to construct the roundabout intersection of Knollwood Drive, Martha Lane Collins Blvd., New Johns Hill Road and New University Drive.
Traffic will be directed to the new Hilltop Drive Intersection, a four way stop with Johns Hill Road and University Drive.
This is part of the $4 million widening project of Johns Hill Road that extends from Knollwood Drive to the I-275 overpass, just past the Northern Kentucky University campus.
Johns Hill Road will be a new alignment with curb and gutter, sidewalks and bike lanes.
The Knollwood Drive closure was scheduled to begin on Sept. 15, but delayed due to rainy weather. The road is expected to be closed for several weeks. The full roundabout project is scheduled for completion in Spring of 2012.
