CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Some local elected officials and candidates are holding a rally Monday night, the day before early voting begins in Ohio.
The rally is at 9 p.m. outside the Hamilton County Board of Elections.
The rally is intended to raise awareness about the start of early voting and to celebrate the successful effort to keep House Bill 194 from taking effect.
House Bill 194 would have shortened the early voting period, but Ohio Democrats sent more than 300,000 signatures to Columbus, and the law was repealed.
If enough signatures had not been collected and the bill had gone into effect, early voting would not have begun until Oct. 22.
