WILMINGTON, OH (FOX19) - Ohio Gov. John Kasich was in Wilmington on Tuesday for an economic development announcement.
Kasich announced Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services will be constructing a new 100,000 square foot aircraft maintenance facility that will bring 259 new jobs to Wilmington.
"We are going to be vigilant, we are going to work with you, we are going to be as creative as our minds will allow us to be," said Gov. Kasich. "But I want you to know that we are starting to win."
Clinton County has one of the state's highest unemployment rates after DHL left in 2008, taking 8,000 jobs with it.
Kasich says Tuesday's announcement is a sign of things to come in Ohio.
"We are going to pray that we can come up with more good ideas so we can bring more relief to the children that live in this community," said Kasich.
