COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Colerain Police Department received over $20,000 in a grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety for the next fiscal year.
The police department was awarded $21,681.69 from the Criminal Justice Services office of the ODPS.
Colerain Police say they plan on using the money to focus on traffic enforcement along Colerain Avenue, specifically speed, impaired driving, motorcycle safety, and seatbelt violations.
Funds from this grant come from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and passed to the Office of Criminal Justice Services. The money is then awarded to projects that the office believes will have the greatest impact on reducing fatal crashes or significantly improving traffic safety.
