RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)- Everybody likes to feel special on their birthday, and to NBC12's Diva of Discounts, nothing's more special than free.
"I wanted to see this year if I could eat all day for free," said Tiffany Cutts.
Cutts turned 27 this week, and October 6th was the day to celebrate without spending a dime.
"For breakfast I went to chick-fil-a on Parham Road, because you get a free sandwich when you show your ID. I got a free drink at Starbucks for my birthday. For lunch I went to Firehouse Subs, and for dinner I went to Red Robin, and dessert, Baskin Robbins," Cutts said.
How much did she pay for all that? Nothing.
Many of her freebies came from signing up on company websites.
"Just your name, your email address, and of course, your birth date," Cutts said.
But it wasn't just free food. She got $10 to use at Victoria's Secret and Old Navy.
"So I can find something for $10 and use the coupon and get it for free also," said Cutts.
She redeemed the deals that were only valid on her birthday, but most give you a week or month to use them.
"Which means for me a couple free lunches," Cutts said.
Even 1-year-old Beamer got a freebie on his birthday.
"Petsmart offers a free treat that they send to you by email when you sign him up for the Pet Perks Club," Cutts said.
Tiffany expected the free offers to arrive before her birthday, which they did, but it was the amount of freebies she got that impressed her.
"Probably around $100 or so. I was surprised to get so many emails just to celebrate my birthday," Cutts said.
