CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A woman driving a car that collided with a tanker truck, spilling 300 gallons of oil onto the road, was issued a traffic ticket for failure to control. Northbound I-75 from the Brent Spence to Hopple Street was closed for nearly 10 hours.
The accident happened Thursday around 8 p.m. near the 3 mile marker on I-75, near Hopple Street. According to the traffic crash report, the driver, Melinda Hudson, 42, struck a guardrail face, which ricocheted her car into the trailer of the semi truck.
Hudson's car ended up under the tanker. The collision punctured the tank of the truck and spilled approximately 300 gallons of motor oil onto the highway.
Hudson had to be cut out of the car and she suffered minor injuries. Her passengers, a man and a child, were not injured.
The driver of the truck, Mark Broeders, 38, of Cincinnati was not injured.
The road reopened at around 6:15 a.m. Friday.
