FAIRFIELD TWP, OH (FOX19) - According to Fairfield Twp police, a boy who claimed he was attacked Monday morning made the whole thing up.
Initial reports from the 8th grader from Fairfield Middle School stated that he was on his way to the school bus stop at the intersection of Imlay and Pater Avenue when a man came up behind him and held a knife to his throat. The 8th grader told FOX19 that he struggled with the guy and when he pulled away from the man the knife cut his throat.
Fairfield Police say that he in fact cut himself.
The teen initially told police that the suspect demanded money and the man fled. After the "attack" he ran home. His father came out of the house to look for the person who he thought cut his child.
The teen was taken to the hospital to get stitches, but is now back home. He plans to go to school Tuesday.
