Hamilton County bars and restaurants keep recycling

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District (District) is proud to announce that more Hamilton County bars and restaurants continue to implement recycling programs. New recycling programs have been implemented at:

  • Chameleon
  • Cliqq and Sip
  • Dive Bar
  • FB
  • Hooligans
  • Latitudes Café
  • Mayday
  • Sidewinder Coffee Shop
  • Triple Cats Bar & Grill

"Recycling is not only good for the environment, but it can be good for business," said Holly Christmann, Program Manager for Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District. "According to a survey by the National Restaurant Association, 60% of consumers prefer to patronize restaurants that recycle."

Begun in November 2010, the District's Bar and Restaurant Recycling Program aims to provide owners with the resources necessary to begin recycling or improve recycling practices at their establishment.

Bar or restaurant owners in Hamilton County who participate in the District's program are provided with:

  • Technical assistance in setting up the program
  • Coordination of recycling services with your waste hauler
  • Indoor collection containers
  • Education for employees or customers
  • A decal promoting that your business recycles
