Former White House press secretaries Robert Gibbs and Dana Perino are highlighting the 12th annual Northern Kentucky University Alumni Association Alumni Lecture Series.
Gibbs, the former press secretary for President Barack Obama, and Perino, the former press secretary for former President George W. Bush, are speaking Wednesday evening in the Student Union Ballroom.
"Certainly Perino and Gibbs have been right in the thick of things," said NKU political science professor Dr. Michael Baranowski. "As such, they possess a great many insights into how policy is made and particularly the role of the media in shaping the policy agenda."
Perino is now a public relations strategist, political commentator and moderator. She is now a regular contributor to "The Five," a television show airing weeknights at 5 p.m. on Fox News Channel. Gibbs, who left his post as Obama's press secretary in February, is also a political commentator and speaker.
The lecture is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Prices are $40 for the general public, $35 for NKU alumni/faculty/staff and $10 for students.
