MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - A well-known broadcasting executive has been charged with drunk driving.
Randy Michaels, whose real name is Benjamin Homel, was pulled over just after 2 a.m. in Middletown.
Michaels was charged with DWI and taken to the Middletown Jail. He bonded out just after 5 a.m. after paying $615.
Michaels is the former CEO of Jacor Communications, which was sold to Clear Channel in 1999. Michaels remained as CEO until 2002. He became CEO of Local TV LLC in 2007, which acquired eight large market stations from News Corporation.
He then became CEO of the Tribune Company, but was later asked to resign.
His new company, Merlin Media, teamed with a Chicago private equity firm to purchase controlling interest in three radio stations in New York and Chicago owned by Emmis Communications.
