Benson suspension reduced to one game

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The attorney for Cedric Benson says the Bengals running back has been given a one game suspension plus a fine.

Benson was originally served with a three game suspension for off-field trouble, but Benson appealed the decision and was able to get it reduced.

His attorney said he wasn't sure if Benson will served that suspension the Bengals next game or later in the season.  The Bengals have a bye this week and next play week eight in Seattle.

STATEMENT BY AN NFL SPOKESPERSON:

Cedric Benson of the Cincinnati Bengals has been suspended without pay for one game and fined one additional game check for violating the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy.

Benson's suspension begins immediately. He is eligible to return to the Bengals' active roster on Monday, October 31 following the team's October 30 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
