FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - The Pella Corp. door manufacturing plant will layoff more than 150 employees beginning in December.
In a letter posted online by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the layoffs will start December 22 with 53 employees and will continue through the first half of 2012. The company is in the process of closing the entire plant located at 7100 Dixie Highway and 158 employees will be affected.
According to the letter that was dated October 11 and mailed to the state, groups will be given 60 days' advanced notice of their separation days.
Pella has 12 manufacturing facilities in the United States including the Fairfield factory that was acquired in 1999. Two independent distributors of Pella Windows and Doors in Cincinnati will stay open.
