HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - The Hamilton Double Dam Regatta scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled due to high water.
The several inches of rain that fell Wednesday and Thursday forced river levels on the Great Miami River to be too high to be safe.
"The Double Dam has never had problems with water safety concerns as the river is most predictable in the fall," read a statement on the regatta's website.
Next year's regatta is scheduled for Oct. 20, 2012.
Entry fee reimbursements for 2011 regatta should be completed by the end of the day.
