Students testify against Schuler in first day of trial
LEBANON, OH (FOX19) -
Two Mason High School students were in court on Monday, testifying against former teacher Stacy Schuler.
Schuler, 33, is accused of having sex with multiple students while she was a gym teacher and athletic trainer at the school between August and December of last year.
Prosecutor Theresa Hiett said Schuler had sex in various ways with five difference students a total of 16 times at her Springboro home. The victims also testified that they drank alcohol and smoked marijuana at her home, and that she gave them massages.
"She rolled over on top of me and we started having sex," one of the alleged victims testified.
The victim also said Schuler never said anything to indicate that she wanted to stop.
The last alleged act of sexual conduct came on Dec. 10, 2010, when three Mason High School teenagers allegedly went to Schuler's home and took turns having sex with her.
Schuler's defense claims she suffers from multiple personality disorders and doesn't even remember having sex with the boys.
"It's clear that Stacy was vulnerable and impaired," said her attorney, Charlie H. Rittgers. "The young men, many athletes, saw an opportunity and saw nothing wrong with having sex with a woman who is impaired on many different levels."
Throughout the defense's questioning of the alleged victims, the contrast between the way Schuler acted at school and out of the classroom was emphasized.
The victims also reveal during testimony on Monday that they would spend the night at Schuler's home after Friday games, and wake up Saturday morning to go to football practice.
Schuler opted out of a jury trial and is having a bench trial.
