RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – There's an App for just about everything. The Better Business Bureau can now add its name to the ever growing list. The consumer organization now has an App that helps consumers research businesses on the go. Tom Gallagher, with the Richmond Better Business Bureau is thrilled about the organization's new app.
"I think it is wonderful, the feedback we've gotten back already is very positive," he said.
It's available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Last year, the organization says 87-million people turned to them to find trustworthy businesses and charities.
Gallagher says the technology was a sign of the times.
"It is a market place reality. You have to put yourself where people are, people were making such fast decisions that it is hard to get folks to slow down long enough, including myself, to make a good decision," Gallagher said.
The App is just another tool to help consumers stay alert. Some of the features include search options for local businesses, access to reviews and the ability to read consumer news. Just in case you're wondering, the App is free.
"This just takes the BBB experience with you everywhere you go, it's a wonderful tool., said Gallagher.
If you don't have an iPhone, don't worry, Gallagher says plans are in the works to develop a program compatible with any device.
