MONFORT HEIGHTS (FOX19) -

Police have identified a robbery suspect who committed suicide during a police chase Thursday afternoon.

Police say Christopher Webster, 26, with a last known address of Fairline Drive in Butler, Ky., was involved in a street robbery at Colerain Avenue and Sheldon Avenue at around 12:40 p.m. and took off in a white Dodge Dually pick up truck with Kentucky license plates.

Police chased him down Hamilton Avenue. The suspect crashed into a parked car at Hamilton and Springlawn.

Police then lost the driver until he was found again at around 2 p.m. on Ronald Reagan Highway, when he was spotted by a plain clothes police unit from North College Hill.

A Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy then began chasing him onto I-275 and then eastbound I-74, and it was discovered the suspect was armed.

Police deployed stop sticks at I-275 and Rybolt and at North Bend Road. The suspect struck both sets of stop sticks, and then slowed down and veered off the right side of the road before coming to a rest in a grassy area about 1/2 mile east of North Bend Road.

Officers noticed the suspect had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Eastbound I-74 was briefly shut down and St. Ignatius school was temporarily placed on lock down.
