Serious injuries caused by deer crash in Miami Township

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Two vehicles were involved in a crash with a deer in Miami Township that caused two people to go to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 4:30 pm near the intersection of Loveland Miamiville Road and Wards Corner Road. Troopers say a 2003 Honda Accord driven by a 17-year-old girl struck a deer. The impact of the crash caused the deer to crash through the windshield of a 1982 Chevrolet pickup truck, which in turn caused the truck to hit a utility pole.

Matthew Logan, 28, who was driving the pickup truck, was taken to Bethesda North Hospital. He was later taken to University Hospital, due his injuries. His injuries are considered life-threatening.

Billy Johnson, 26, was the passenger in the pickup truck. He was taken to Bethesda North with serious injuries.

The 17-year-old was not injured in the crash.

The crash continues to be investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
