CRESCENT SPRINGS, KY (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Bomb Squad was called to a Crescent Springs storage unit after a suspicious package was found Monday morning.
A short time after 8:30a.m., the property owner of Smart Stop Storage told police while he was opening the store, he found a package with a one gallon plastic jug inside containing an unknown liquid. The package was found in a hallway inside one of the storage units. Officials say they saw that the jug was wrapped in Styrofoam and had two sticks wrapped in blue plastic protruding from the open box.
Kenton County Emergency Management and the Cincinnati Bomb Squad were called to the scene and found that the liquid was airplane fuel but the package had no triggers or igniters.
The bomb squad turned the package over to the Erlanger Police Department. Officials believe that the package was left outside the storage unit on accident when someone was accessing their unit. Police say they will try and return the package to the owner.
