1 arrested, 2 on the run after copper theft at Duke facility

COLD SPRING, KY (FOX19) - One man is behind bars and two others are on the run after a copper theft at the Duke facility on Industrial Road in Cold Spring.

Police say at about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, two suspects entered the facility by cutting through the fencing and began removing copper wire from the site. One of the suspects, George Eblan, 41, of Covington, was arrested after a short foot chase.

The second suspect took off on foot and was not able to be tracked by K9 units.

Police are also looking for a third suspect who was driving the vehicle that transported them to the site and planned to pick them up. Warrants have been signed for both suspects.

Eblan is charged with Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, and Theft by Unlawful Taking over 500 and Fleeing and Evading a Police Officer.  He is being held in the Campbell County Detention Center.
