Preparation for the 29th annual PNC Festival of Lights is well underway at the Cincinnati Zoo.
One of the most iconic and certainly the tallest display – a 30-foot-tall animal Nutcracker – arrived at the zoo on Wednesday morning.
The giant rhinoceros Nutcracker stands guard at the Zoo's Vine Street Village entrance during PNC Festival of Lights, which runs from Nov. 25 through Jan. 1.
This Holiday Season, the Zoo will feature two giant Nutcrackers, a rhinoceros at the Vine Street Village entrance, and a lion at the Safari Camp entrance.
Assembling the massive is no easy task. HGC Construction uses a crane and a lift bucket to put the Nutcracker's five wooden parts, one base, two legs, on body and a rhino head.
