UNION TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Union Township Police were involved in a chase Wednesday night that ended with a crash.
The chase began at around 6:50 pm when police say they witnessed a traffic violation at the intersection of Old State Route 74 & Eastgate Blvd. Police say that they attempted to pull the driver over, but the driver refused.
This began a short chase that lasted approximately 1/4 mile on Old State Route 74. It ended when the driver of the vehicle pursued by police reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which caused the car to strike another vehicle.
After striking that vehicle, the pursued vehicle went off the right shoulder of the roadway and came to a final rest on its top in the 900 block of Old State Route 74.
The driver of the vehicle that fled suffered serious injuries and was transported to University Hospital. Police expect the driver to recover.
The driver of the vehicle struck sustained a minor injury and was transported to a local hospital.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident, but believe alcohol was a factor.
