RIPLEY COUNTY, IN (FOX19) - A motorcyclist was flown to the hospital Wednesday evening after a crash in Ripley County.
It happened just after 5 p.m. at County Road 500 N. and County Road 800 E.
When officers arrived on scene, they found Yatzie Roysden, 49, lying on the ground complaining of back pain and his wife, Susan Roysden, 46, sitting on the ground beside her husband complaining of pain in her left shoulder and leg.
Susan Roysden, of Milan, told officers they were riding their motorcycle eastbound on County Road 500 N. approaching a left hand curve when a tan SUV came around the curve, running them off the roadway. Susan had walked to a nearby residence to call for help for her husband.
Yatzie Roysden was transported to a nearby landing zone where he was flown by Air Care to UC Medical Center in Cincinnati to be treated for his injuries he sustained in the crash.
Susan Roysden was taken to Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville to be treated for her injuries she sustained in the crash.
Police say the Roysdens were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident, and speed was not a factor.
