West Chester Police officer accused of leaking information suspended without pay

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - A West Chester police officer who was in court last week accused of leaking confidential information during an investigation has been suspended without pay.

Officer David Busemeyer, 37, has been charged with obstructing official business, obstructing justice, and attempted tampering with evidence.

The West Chester Police Department suspended Busemeyer without pay and benefits. The suspension began October 31st.

Busemeyer was indicted by a Butler County Grand Jury on October 13th. He was arraigned on October 27th, and was released on his own recognizance.

Butler County Prosecutors will not comment on the specifics of the case, and will only say that Busemeyer leaked confidential information during an investigation. The case was handed over to the prosecutor's office by the West Chester Police Department.

David Busemeyer's next court date is November 10th.
