Hamilton Police release names of victims in Friday shooting

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

Hamilton Police Department release the names of the victims of Friday's shooting that killed one man and injured a woman.

Just before 9:30 p.m. Friday, officers responded to calls of shots fired in the area of South Front and Hurm Street in Hamilton. Officers found a man with a serious gunshot wound near the corner of Front and Wilson Street.

Officers also found a woman on Hurm Street with a gunshot wound to the wrist. Police say she is an innocent bystander who was inside the hallway of a building on Hurm Street and was hit by one of the bullets fired in the gunfight.

The male victim, Quincy Mayrice Simms, 27, was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead. The woman victim, Talaina Martin, suffered a minor gunshot wound to the wrist.

Jeremy Watson, a 25 year old male black from Hamilton has been charged with Weapons Under Disability and Tampering with Evidence at this time.
