A Monday evening fire at a three-story apartment building in Mt. Washington leaves two adults and one child in need of a place to live.
The fire happened just after 6 p.m. in the 2300 block of Beechmont Avenue. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the 25 unit apartment building had fire on all three floors. The fire was confined to the deck areas and attic.
It took only 20 minutes to control the blaze, but it took 43 firefighters to do so.
Smoke damage is reported in four apartments. All occupants had evacuated the building safely when the fire department arrived.
The Red Cross is assisting to relocate the two adults and child.
Damage is estimated at $80,000 dollars. There were no reported injuries. At this time, the cause is undetermined and is under investigation.
