Just before 2 p.m., a theft occurred at the Dillard's department store at the Kenwood Towne Center.

A vehicle description was relayed as a white 1999 Ford Taurus, and a deputy spotted the vehicle immediately.

Officers attempted a traffic stop as the suspect fled southbound on Montgomery Road through Sycamore Township, Silverton and into Cincinnati. The sheriff's helicopter got involved and followed the vehicle as it fled.

The pursuit continued down Montgomery Road to Langdon Farm Road and Reading Road. The suspect then turned on Rockdale Road to Victory Parkway where the suspect surrendered to police.

The suspect has been identified as Mervin Taylor, 20, of Forest Park. He is charged with misdemeanor theft and felony fleeing and eluding.
