Man sentenced to life in prison for Casa Tequila shooting

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

A Butler County Jury sentenced a man to life in prison without the possibility of parole for a shooting that happened outside a Fairfield bar in 2008.

Hector Alvarenga Retana, 23, was convicted by a jury on Friday for the murders of Evelvin Osveli Morales, 20, and Marlon Enamorado-Gomez, 21, on Sunday, July 13, 2008 near Casa Tequila on Dixie Highway in Fairfield, Ohio. He had faced the death penalty for the murders.

Retana faces further sentencing by Judge Craig Hedric November 16th for other crimes including attempted murder, witness intimidation, and felonious assault.

Hector Alvarenga Retana was also found to be a member of the MS-13 gang, considered one of the most dangerous gangs in the country.
