ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A 13-year-old boy has been arrested for raping a 5-year-old girl at a local McDonald's.
The boy, who is from Clermont County, is now charged with one count of rape, a first degree felony.
On October 29, 2011, a complaint was received by the Sheriff's Office alleging a 5-year-old female had been sexually assaulted at the McDonald's Playland at Beechmont and Wolfangel in Anderson Township.
Sheriff's Detectives, assigned to the Criminal Investigation Section, investigated the allegation and on Nov. 9, released the image of an unknown suspect to the public.
That suspect was brought to the Sheriff's Office Thursday by his parents and subsequently admitted to the facts of the allegation.
FOX19 spoke to parents in the Tri-State to see if they would turn in their child if they found out they committed a crime like this.
"If we're talking about rape, absolutely. I have a 3-year-old, and I honestly, I don't know how I would act towards it. But turning my child in if my child was 13, 14 absolutely. My child would be sick. They'd need help," said one parent.
"Yes. I'm sure it was a hard decision to make, but you know, I do commend them. I would hope that any parent in that situation would have the guts and the courage to do that," said another parent.
The juvenile will be held at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center to await further proceedings on the charge.
