CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Injured UC quarterback Zach Collaros spoke to the media Tuesday for the first time since he broke his ankle Saturday against West Virginia.
The senior led the Bearcats to a 7-1 start and first place in the Big East Conference, but will miss the final three games of the regular season.
A team spokesperson says the surgery, on Monday, was successful and that Collaros would rehab with the goal of playing in UC's bowl game.
"That's what they're telling me," Collaros said of playing in the bowl game. "I'm going to do everything I can to get back at it whenever I get this cast off. It would mean a lot."
UC plays at Rutgers this weekend. Munchie Legaux will start at quarterback.
