WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) - Special Olympian Nathan Michelson, was honored at a Westwood LaRosa's Pizzeria Tuesday afternoon.
He was honored at the pizza place by having his Special Olympics National Games singlet retired and placed on the Wall of Fame.
"The family gave us some of his medals and uniforms, and we decided to frame them and then invite him up for dinner with his family and friends so that we could properly recognize him," said owner Michael LaRosa.
Michelson has been participating in Hamilton County Special Olympics for 29 years. He brought home the silver medal in Deadlift, Benchpress and Overall at the Special Olympics Summer National Games in 2010.
Michelson competes in weightlifting, basketball, bowling, unified soccer and unified softball and works for Fifth Third Bank.
