READING, OH (FOX19) - Mount Notre Dame high school will celebrate its 6th State Volleyball title with a Pep Rally on Friday, November 18th at 1:30 pm in the school's gym.
On Saturday, November 12th, the Cougars achieved a State Title with a 3-1 win over St. Ursula Academy of Toledo. After MND chalked-up wins in games one and two, The Arrows took game three with a 25-23 score. The Cougar fans let their team know that they still believed as they serenaded the team with the Journey hit "Don't Stop Believing." That may have just been the boost they needed as the Cougars quickly took game four 25-8.
Mount Notre Dame's Scholar-Athletes can also talk about great academic records. The team's collective weighted GPA is 4.93. That academic achievement will serve the seniors well as they move on to college next year. On Thursday, November 17th, four seniors will sign to play volleyball at the collegiate level at a ceremony held at MND at 2:30 pm. Abree Hord of Loveland is signing with DePaul University; Mary Crema of Loveland will continue her volleyball career as a University of Cincinnati Bearcat; Kelsey Wolf of Symmes Township will sign with the University of Kentucky and Rachel DiLeonardo of West Chester will play for Caldwell College.
The MND community will once again rally around the Cougars during Friday's celebration. In addition to students, parents, faculty and members of the school's Board of Trustees, Reading Mayor Bo Bemmes and representatives from Congressman Steve Chabot's and Senator Rob Portman's offices are expected to attend.
