COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

A Covington woman plead guilty to abuse charges in the death of her 9-month-old daughter Thursday.

Megin Gray, 26, was arrested in January after she woke up to find her daughter next to a baseboard heater and badly burned. Gray rushed her daughter to the hospital, but the infant had already died.

Police say Gray had taken Xanax, Percocet with alcohol before going to sleep the night before her daughter's death.

Gray pled guilty to four felony counts of criminal abuse, which is a class D felony. In exchange, the charge of 2nd degree manslaughter was dropped by prosecutors.

Prosecutors say Gray will serve 5 years in prison for the charges. She will be sentenced on December 20th at the Kenton County Courthouse.
