The woman who stole a van from a Covington gas station, which had a 4-year-old boy inside, was sentenced Tuesday.
Dawn Dixon, 25, has been sentenced to five years in prison. Dixon, along with Kevin Gosney, 38, stole the van that Jackson Day was riding in. She was charged with theft by unlawful taking over and escape.
After a massive search, the van was found dropped off behind a fire station with the child still inside. Dixon and Gosney were found and arrested two hours later in Downtown Cincinnati.
Dixon was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital because she was dependent on drugs and seven months pregnant. Dixon escaped from the hospital, but police were able to track her down and take her to Kenton County Detention Center.
Gosney was sentenced earlier this month to 12 years in prison.
