Funeral arrangements announced for Batavia trustee elect killed Monday

BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) - Funeral arrangements have been announced for a Batavia Township Trustee elect struck and killed after a collision between two vehicles Monday.

The visitation for Jim Bushman will be on Friday, November 25 at the First Baptist Church of Glen Este, located at 1034 Old State Route 74, Batavia, OH from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The funeral will be held at the same church on Saturday, November 26 at 10:00 a.m., with a burial to follow at the Mt. Zion Christian Cemetery, located at 1562 Clermontville-Laurel Road, New Richmond, OH.

Bushman was taking out his garbage when a pick-up truck and a van; the truck was allegedly trying to pass the van when the lost control and hit the left side of the van. The truck then went off the left side of the road, hitting and killing Bushman. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Jim Bushman, 72, was to take office as a Batavia Township Trustee on January 1st. he had previously held the office from 1999-2003. Bushman was also the husband of Clermont County Auditor Linda Fraley.
