BROOKVILLE, IN (FOX19) - The man accused of shooting five people in rural Indiana has been granted a change of venue by a Franklin County judge.

David Ison, 46, is charged with killing Angela A. Napier, Jacob L. Napier, Roy D. Napier, Melissa L. Napier and Henry X. Smith in a home in Laurel, IN in late September.

Ison's attorney had asked for a change of venue earlier this month, saying Ison would not be able to get a fair trial in Franklin County because of extensive news coverage of the September deaths.

According to the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office, Ison's trial will either be held in Franklin County with a jury filled with people from out of the county, or the trial will be held outside of Franklin County.

A judge will make a decision next week on that change.
