A Delhi man was released on his own recognizance Friday following his arrest Wednesday on charges he drove while intoxicated with a two-year-old boy in the car.
A Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy reported he observed 37-year-old Jeff Cruse in the area of Cleves Warsaw Pike in Green Township and on Hillside Avenue a couple blocks away in Delhi driving 53 in a 35 zone, pulled him over, and found a 2-year-old boy in the SUV, along with an open can of Keystone beer.
Police say Cruse tested at a .167 blood alcohol level, about twice the legal limit. Police charged him with child endangering, open container, OVI, not carrying his license with him, not wearing a safety belt, a driving with a more than .08 per cent alcohol in his blood.
Cruse is due in court December 12.
