Two-alarm fire at West Chester apartment complex

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) -

Multiple fire crews were called to the scene of a two-alarm fire at a West Chester apartment complex Saturday afternoon.

The fire started around 12:15 pm at the Highlands Apartments on the 6700 block of Fountains Blvd. The fire was at an apartment building that had 23 different units.

The fire took crews over an hour to knock down. The West Chester Fire Department was assisted by fire crews from Mason, Deerfield Township, Springdale, Sharonville, and Liberty Township.

All occupants of the 23 apartments were displaced by the fire, and are being assisted by the Red Cross and the management of the building to find a place to stay Saturday night. However, only two apartments were heavily damaged by the fire.

The apartment building was evacuated, and no injuries were reported at the scene.

Firefighters are still investigating the scene, but believe the fire was electrical in nature. There is currently no damage estimate.
