Local charity ranked best in nation

BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19) -

A local charity has been ranked #1 in the nation by two different organizations.

Matthew 25: Ministries in Blue Ash is tied for #1 on Forbes' list of the 20 Most Efficient Large Charities in the U.S. and has also been ranked #1 for on Charity Navigator of Ten Top Notch Charities.

Charity Navigator annually evaluates the financial health of over 5,500 of America's largest charities.

Over the years, Matthew 25 has consistently received high rankings from Charity Navigator as well as Forbes.com and the Philanthropy 400.

"Matthew 25: Ministries is thrilled and honored to receive recognition from two of the most prestigious sources for charity evaluation," said Rev. Wendell Mettey, founder and president of Matthew 25. "This is an accolade that we share with our thousands of generous volunteers and donors who help us reach out to the poorest of the poor here in Greater Cincinnati, throughout the US and around the world."

Mettey says Matthew 25 has distributed more than 560 truckloads of aid weighing over 12 million pounds to partners locally, nationally and internationally in 2011.

In addition to this recognition for outstanding performance, Matthew 25 is celebrating 20 years of service in 2011 as well as shipment of their one hundred millionth pound of humanitarian aid.
