BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a plane crash at the Clermont County airport.
It happened Tuesday evening just before 7 p.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Raymond Belz, 65, of Metamora, Mich. was piloting a 2006 Cirrus SR 26 single engine plane when the left side tire blew during takeoff, causing the plane to lose steering.
The plane slid off the left side of the runway and game to a stop in a grassy area. The plane suffered minor damage. Belz and his two passengers, Gerald Basore, 50, of Lapeer, Mich. and Gary Gariglio, 48, of Metamora, Mich., were not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
