FOREST PARK, OH (FOX19) - The Salvation Army is helping area children have a brighter Christmas through its annual Toy Shop.
During the three day event, pre-qualified parents shop for toys, dolls and books that have been donated through the Toys for Tots program and contributions to the Salvation Army.
In November, 2,700 families were qualified to become participants in the program. Over 7,200 children will receive toys, a 19.3 percent increase from last year. In addition, more than $93,000 in Kroger gift cards were distributed to families.
The Toy Shop has a new location this year at Cincinnati Mall.
