Ripley County shooting officially ruled a homicide

RIPLEY COUNTY, IN (FOX19) - Indiana State Police have officially ruled the first of two Ripley County shootings at the same residence a homicide.

Ripley County Dispatch received a 911 call on December 4 of a shooting at the home at 4383 North County Road near Milan.

Randy Isaacs Sr., 52, of Greendale, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Isaacs was taken to Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, where he died.

A second shooting occurred at the same residence on Wednesday, December 7 just after 4:00 p.m. in which 71 year old Russell Holt, the owner of the residence suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He was airlifted to University Hospital in Cincinnati where he later died. The investigation of both shootings is still ongoing by state police investigators. They are still awaiting lab results from several articles of evidence collected at the scene of the first shooting.

No other information is being released at this time.
