Free medical exams given to service dogs

BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Association(CVMA) gives law enforcement and search and rescue dogs free exams on Sunday.

Local veterinarians that specialized in surgery and internal medicine, partnered with students from the University of Cincinnati Veterinary Technology program to give exams to police dogs and search and rescue dogs.

CVMA has hosted this event for the past 18 years. This event was held at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash campus.

CVMA says that they appreciate the service that these dogs provide for the Cincinnati area. They say they are glad they can help keep the dogs healthy.

The exam cost over 1,000 $ dollars per dog, but the dogs were able to have the exams for free.
