COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Colerain High School today welcomed back Army Spc. Thomas Hauser for a special recognition ceremony.
Spc. Hauser, a 2008 Colerain graduate, spoke to about 1,000 students and 400 senior citizens this morning at Colerain's Senior Holiday Social.
Spc. Hauser was awarded the Army Soldier of the Year, Best Warrior by the Army and was written up nationally for this honor. He competed against 12 other soldiers in the "Super Bowl of Army competitions."
Warriors selected to compete have mastered a series of benchmarks throughout the year including their Army aptitude, conquering urban warfare simulations, board interviews, physical fitness tests, written exams and battle drills relevant to today's operating environment.
Spc. Hauser is a Combat Lifesaver and Combative Level 1 Qualified for the 563rd Military Police Company in Ft. Drum, NY, and has served in the Army for 18 months. He is currently pursuing an Associate Degree in Business Management and one day hopes to obtain a Master's Degree and achieve the rank of Command Sergeant Major.
