Man on the run for 8 years arrested in Independence

INDEPENDENCE, KY (FOX19) - A fugitive that had eluded police for eight years was arrested in Independence Tuesday.

Police say Rashad A. Spillman, 34, was wanted on numerous charges out of Fayette County and was living in Independence under the alias of Marcus Gordon. The Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force conducted surveillance in an Independence neighborhood for several hours before locating Spillman in a residence on Sylvan Drive.

Once located, the Drug Strike Force partnered with Kenton County SWAT to arrest Spillman. SWAT surrounded the house and after several hours arrested Spillman.

Spillman was arrested on nine outstanding warrants out of Fayette County.  The charges include Trafficking in Cocaine, Probation Violation on Robbery 2nd charges, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree, and Violation of a Domestic Violence Order.

Spillman was taken to the Kenton County Jail.
